I am trying to find the birth records and family records, mening the
parents of William F. Dittmers who was born in Kingdom Hannover in
1865, in June of that year or close to that year. He was born in
Stadt Bucholz. Any assistance your organizaton can provide will be

William F. Dittmers zu finden, der im K�nigreich Hannover im Juni des
Jahres 1865, oder eines nahegelegenen Jahres geboren wurde. Er wurde

You do have a problem insofar as my autoatlas of Germany shows about 30
villages by the name of Buchholz. There are none listed in the index by the
spelling of Bucholz. Have you used the Mormon website?
www.familysearch.org They list many Dittmers (with many spellings). Also
if you go to the family history catalog on that same website and enter the
name of Buchholz, you will see that it lists some microfilms for a few
villages by that name. However, it could be that Buchholz is small and
probably the people from your family went to church in a larger village or
city nearby. I'm not sure how you will find the correct Buchholz!
I would search online to see other family trees by that name. You
might look at this one:

That William was born in 1865, but I don't know where that town is
either! However, it lists Williams' siblings and you might recognize that
family.

I found a town by the name of Pronstorf (in Holstein) which is spelled
differently but is similar to the one in the family tree I suggested you
look at. There is a small village by the name of Buchholz not very far from
there. It is just west of Wahlstedt. Pronstorf is still further east of
Wahlstedt--that could mean there were Dittmers in the area. Maybe the LDS
has a film for that area--I can't seem to get into their website at the
moment. Anyway, it's a thought and it could be something you could
look into, if you can't find anything else.
