Hello to the Oldenburg Genealogy List,
My husband's great, great grandfather was Frederick C. WENKE.He was born 27 June 1829 in Oldenburg or Hannover.
He immigrated to the United States sometime in the early to mid 1850's.
He came to St. Louis, Missouri and worked as a Steamboat Steward for many years.
Can someone in the group please check the Oldenburg Familienbuchs or Ortsippenbuchs for the birth place and parents names for Frederick C. Wenke?
Also would like the area in and around Bremen to be checked as well.

Your Frederick C. Wencke was born 27.6.1829 in Wersabe, a village between Bremen and Bremerhaven. It belongs to the township HAGEN. See Wersabe
He died 1.4.1908 in Saint Louis, USA. Bueried 3.4.1908. He emigrated 1855 and as you wrote he was a steward.
His parents were Magnus Wencke * 25.6.1780 in Wersabe + there 17.4.1848. His mother: Mette Ahlheit Woermann * 23.9.1787 in Penningbuettel + 20.10.1865 in Wersabe.
