Hello Mrs. Heike
I am looking for more information about the family Wendt from Krentzlin. I have read the books on the topic from Fahrenberg and are interested in solving who is who.
I am a descendant from Christian Petersen Wendt (1778-1862), the founder of Holmegaards Glasværk in Fensmark, Denmark. This on my fathers side.
I have tried to figure out where he came from in Germany. From the census of 1860 it says he comes from Hannover. I lately have discovered it was from the Fahrendorf area.
This because he is born to either Peter Wendt (1748-1783), or a brother Hinrich Christian Wendt in Bremervörde.
Now my family and other interested have said that Peter Wendt comes from Mecklenburg, and from the book on the hut in Fahrendorf it says Krentzlin. Therefore I am thrilled to find some more to the puzzle of the Wendt family.
They emigrated to Jevnaker and Hurum after Fahrenberg closed down in the summer of 1782 to the Hadeland and Schimmelmanns Glasworks.
This included Hinrich Wendt sen., Hinrich Wendt jun. Peter Wendt, Hinrich Gra(m)bow and Johann Jürgen Hartmann.
I see in the churchbooks of Bremervörde that Hinrich Wendt bares the name Christian aswell.
I suspect that Casper (Friedrich) Wendt from this thread is their father.
But I cannot figure out how exactly the Wendts are related.
In Bremerv’orde found out that
(Jochen) Peter Wendts (1748-1783) father in law is glasblower Johann Gundelach (1806)
Peter Wendts and Catharina Gündelachs children are
Catharina Sophia Wendt 1772-1857 (w. Maria Hedewig d. 1 jan 1773)
With second wife Catharina Sophia Gündelach m. 25.6.1775
Johann Jürgen Wendt 1776-1844
Peter Friederich Wendt 1780-1784
Hinrich Christian Wendt 1778-1862 - possibly the child of Hinrch Christian Wendt - suspected grandson of Casper Wendt.
Peter Wendt dies in Norway on the 17 of august 1783 in Hurum.
I write this because I am pleased to understand that Johann Hartmann and Dorothea Elisabeth are godparents/witnesses to Peter Friederichs baptismal.
I did not know that they were son and daughter in laws to the Wendts.
I can see from the litterature from Fahrendorf that a Hartmann goes with the Wendts to Norway, but which I do not know.
Also you ask if Lippart goes with the Wendts to Norway. I am not sure, but I know that Christian Wendts (1778-1862) daughter Elisabeth Sophie Wendt 2.4.1804 - Hurum d 8 nov 1876, Ganlöse, Ølstykke, Frederiksborg) marries into the Lyppert family. She marries Hans Andreas Lippert 1806- 29.4.1843 - Fensmark. They marry 18.1.1833 in Fensmark. I can trace him to be born in Jevnaker Norway, but with no exact date. His farther is Hans Christian Lippert 19.8.1759, Poserin M Schwerin d. 10.12.1809, Jevnaker. Mother - Inger Povlsdatter 1763 Norway 20.6.1829 - Jevnaker. Their son Johan Peter Bernhard L. 19.6.1840 - Holmegårds Glw continues as a glasblower in DK.
The same goes for CWs son Peter Wendt 1800-1862.
His son Bernhard Wendt 1835-1909, and Grand son Bernhard 1870-1943 is the last of the Wendts on Holmegaard. The same Year 1943 they demolish the first hut with the first oven build there.
I am out of another of PWs sons Carl Johannes Ferdinand who went on to be glasblower in Kastrup on Amager in the 1850s. The only surving mass production glaswork is still Holmegaard.
Could anyone maybe try to explain how they see the relationship stated in Neu Krentzlin?
And explain the abrievation BV?
Thank you very much.
Frederik Holm Johansen
