Hi List,
I came across a document that says that Heinrich Julius Schrader was born in Watzum, Duchy of Braunschweig in 1827.
Is there any way to find out where that was or to get a map of the area in 1827?
Thanks, Gail Schrader

Hello Gail,
not very difficult. Just try the map on the site of the village
of Watzum under:
http://www.watzum.de
It is only about 2km south of Schoeppenstedt (with Umlaut O).
Another hint for all you searching cities or villages in or around
Germany. The German version of Google is connected with
ViaMichelin, that offers maps of the searched (if existing under this
name!).
So, instead of running google.com - just hit google.de and find out how
many more hits you can have and immediately find the village

There are two Watzum's. One is north of Hildesheim and the other is south
east of Wolfenbüttel (probably the one you want). Both can be found with Map
Quest.
