The family was Catholic. The only information I have
is Bernard Vortkamp born about 1826, brother, Herman,
born about 1800, and sister, Gertrud, born about 1822.
Bernard and Gertrud came to America about 1848. I'm
looking for their parents, brothers and sisters. I
found on the Ahaus website a district named
Vortkamp-Bessler and Vortkamp-Dues. Does anyone know
what this means or where located? Any information on
the family or websites, etc. are appreciated. Thank
