I have need of data for Wilhelm KAYSER, Dob 19 April 1862.He Married my Grandmother Christine Gesine HINTE. In December 1888 in a Civil ceremony at Stotel, Germany . That is the last data that I have been able to find.I know that they lived in Abertson? near Stotel until around 1898, as my Father lived there with them before he Came to Australia.
My second Brick Wall is Carl Heinrich HINTE Who was born on 11th, June, 1862 at Stotel. Marriage Banns were read in the Lutheran Church in Stotel on the 2nd, 9th &16th January 1883, however I cannot find any record of Marriage in the Church records?
I have discovered a Charles HINTE Dob June 1862 that Immigrated to the Use in 1890, some 7 years after the Banns of Marriage was read. The 1900 US Federal census shows this Charles as being Married with two children, His Marriage year was 1895, yet I cannot find any record of Both his arrival in the USA nor his Marriage???
At least if I can find data on the Marriage I may find out his Parents NAMES?
The 1900 Census shows that he lived at Brooklyn ward 27, Kings, New York.
As you will all appreciate I have not been sitting still waiting for this data? I would really be grateful for any & all assistance that I can get. My time is limited to complete this research due to health reasons.

There is only one place, a farm of Abertshausen that is 652 Km south of
Hamburg and very unlikely be the place they lived.
What are the sources of your information, especially Abertson?
Search the FHL catalogue for Stotel. There is one book that might help
you and I think you can write or email the FHL and ask for a lookup in it.

What was his wife's given name; the children's names and their religion.

Many thanks for you're kind reply to my request for data I am aware of were Stotel is & in fact have visited there as part of my research. I have been to the Lutheran Church there & obtained much of my data from the church registers. I also have the Family book of people that lived at Stotel from the mid 1700 up to quite recently.Unfortunately I have found a few errors in that book that relate to my own family.
All of my published data has Provenance, except that which I obtained from the Die Maus Society in Bremen & I quote them as being my source in that case.
I have Friends that act on my behalf in Germany who live in Bremerhaven & they regularly visit Stotel to visit their particular Friends at that place, they in turn check any church data that I may need confirmed/Clarified (I unfortunately do not speak The German language, although I am reading it reasonably well , when it comes to Genealogy) My Friends both read & write German/English very well.
It is the two Brick walls that I asked about in my listing that has me in this quandary as to the data that I can substantiate.I am adamant that I will not assume anything unless I can prove it. Hence the problem with the Charles HINTE/Carl Heinrich HINTE, very PROBABLY being the same person? I need absolute proof that this is so!
You will see that I have quoted the US 1900 Federal Census for the data on Charles HINTE & his Family. I am a member of Ancestry.com & have used their resources to attempt in finding additional data? Unfortunately in my case Ancestry.com is heavily orientated towards US records, while lots of my research is in Germany, hence my use of Die Maus & FOKO.
Far too many family trees assume too much already, only to be later proven to be guesses rather than fact. I am determined not to perpetrate this problem in my case.
Bill. we cannot infer from your original message how much, in what
records and physically where you have researched.
I based my comments on what is in your query. Your being in
Australia leads me to think that you are not too familiar with US research.

Bill, in genealogy the chances of getting absolute proof are nil.

Is this Charles Hinte a sibling of your GM?
Are you looking to track him in the USA
I do not have at home access to Ancestry however on the new
FamilySearch I find the Charles Hinte you mention in Brooklyn along
with a probable son Charles born 1898. I have not used the 1900 Census
on this site before His wife's name is Margaret, born New York and
married in 1895 with three children Charles and Mary. He entered the US
in 1890,. Later census ask how long he was in th USA and in what year
he immigrated and if he was naturalized.
If you are looking for them in the USA here is the info from the SSDI on son Charles:
CHARLES HINTE born19 Jun 1898 died Jul 1966 11217 (Brooklyn, Kings, NY) 100-07-1320 New York

I think it likely that they were married in the brides' home town if she was not from Stotel.
Hi Bob.
Many thanks for you're thoughtful response to my query. Carl Heinrich HINTE dob 11 June 1863 at Stotel , Germany is definitely my Great Uncle! You are perfectly correct in the assertion that they may have been married in the Brides' home town, however that has proved a NOGO, Church & civil records have already been researched for that eventuality. I have also searched for a civil ceremony, no result!!
I am very conscious of the fact that nothing is guaranteed as far as data is concerned, my response to this is to obtain all that is available & to record that source/sources. It is difficult enough in many cases just finding the data, let alone having to repeat that process & not remembering form where one got the data in the first place?
I am prepared to believe that the Charles HINTE of the USA is that same Carl/Charles HINTE listed in the 1900 Federal Census in the US, given that they both have the very same birth date. Do not go off on this as I am aware that this is a tenuous conclusion, hence my request for further data, especially the Marriage record. I do not simply believe that they are the same person on this alone, as other members of the family did in fact immigrate to the USA (NY , Kings & Queens & one to NJ this also include their Father, who moved there after his Wife passed away in Germany, to live with his Children in turn, until he passed away at around 93 years of age.)
Yes Bob I am attempting to find him in the USA. later census do not have him listed?? you provided the Birth/Death dates for Charles Jnr. I also have his Marriage dates as well (June 1st 1929) Queens NY. However as I said in my first enquiry I cannot find the Marriage record???
I still see the key to most of this as the "Marriage data for Carl/Charles HINTE in 1895", or possibly the birth data on the Children, although that will not give me the Parent Names of Carl/Charles.

Hunt Charles Nov 18 1896 Manhattan 18903 H530
Fulton Margaret Nov 18 1896 Manhattan 18903 F435
The only record with sounds like Hinte and wife given name Margaret.
i suggest that you join a New York City or Brooklyn list and ask there as people on on one of these these lists will have more knowledge about searching for a marriage record and

the marriage record of Charles and Margaret should have the parent's names.
