I too have been reseaching Germany for several years. My brick wall came tumbling down when I again went through an old german prayer book and inside one of the pages was written a name of a church. To make a long story short, my grandfather was a Lutheran but converted to Catholic prior to his marriage. I was always checking the Catholic churches but to no avail. I then checked the Lutheran Church and found the complete family, brother, sisters, their birthdates, marriages, occupations, etc. Just because they go to one faith,does not mean that is where the records may be.
