Translation help

I am trying to translate an obituary that is written in German, fancy lettering etc. So first I had to decipher the letters and then translate the words. I have done pretty well except for one word. I am not sure that this is the proper spelling but does anyone know what this could possibly be. I think that it is "verflosienen". I have trouble distinguishing between the letter "f" and the letter "s" so it could be "verslosienen" or "verslofienen". I will give you the entire sentence.

"Am verflosienen Donnerstag fand (or sand) vom Trauerhause, No. 2813 Meramec Str. aus, die Beerdigung des am Dienstag, den 17 November, um hohen Alter von 85 Jahren verstorbene, Ferdinand Meyrose statt."

  Thanks for any help.

It surely is "am verflossenen Donnerstag" = "last thursday", literally "the thursday that has floated by".

Hallo Barb,

   The correct spelling is :

"Am verflossenen (= vergangenen oder letzten) Donnerstag fand vom
Trauerhause, No. 2813 Meramer Str. aus,

die Beerdigung des am Dienstag, den 17.November, im hohen Alter von 85
   Jahren verstorbenen Ferdinand Meyrose

   statt.".

"Am verflossenen Donnerstag " is an older wording for : "Last
   Thursday .... ".

Hi, Barb

The translation of the entire sentence reads as follows:

Last Thursday, the funeral of Ferdinand Meyrose, who passed away on Tuesday, November 17, at the great age of 85 years, took place, starting at the house of mourning, No. 2813, Meramec Street.

Probably, a funeral march or procession is meant.

  Best regards
