Someone else has already mentioned where Petze is... My special interest is
also in Petze, as my g-g-grandfather came from Petze (Brakebusch), who
married an Oelker (also from Petze). I am currently looking through the
microfilms for Petze, although must admit that they are VERY difficult (i.e.
at times impossible) to read as the picture is rather small and often very
faint. I have started to take photos of the data in order to enlarge it at
home on my PC. I didn't look for Wendt when I checked my own family, but I
shall be travelling to Petze in September/October on my trip to Germany. If
you want, I can send you some photos of Petze. I plan to see their cemetery,
although don't hold out much hope that the old gravestones are still
there... let me know if you're interested.
