There are 3 archives that have records there. You can try a search for Osnabrueck, Hannover and Wolfenbuttel.

Click on the button and use the index search for nach Personen..you may find something. If you get a hit you need to email them with the record number and info and they will mail you the Aswander with a bill to be paid in Euro.

I could be wrong, I don't know if they have records that early. My ancestor I found in 1859. Worth a shot if you haven't tried it though.

The search for the record number doesn't cost anything.

I checked and got about 100 listings for the same number. Do you think
something was wrong with the site? .. or does it list each time it finds the
name?

Do you have any idea what the 'average' cost is for the documents and what
kind of information they have in the file?
