I am looking for information on William Geigle born in Stuttgart in 1885.

if your William (most likely Wilhelm in German) was really born in Stuttgart the Standesamt may have a birth record.
You can contact them at poststelle.standesamt@stuttgart.de I'm not sure if they can handle english requests but from past experience (before they had e-mail) I know they were very cooperative.
Include in your request that your looking for family research documents (not legal documents, which cost some money for the stamp) and what your linkeage to the guy is. They will help, if you have a direct linkeage, and it may be difficult if the guy is your neighbor's friend forefather.
