Hey! What's the link? I'm interested in taking a hack at it!

Please and thanks,

Researching KUHLMAN[N]

Its record archives of emigrants that applied for
emmigration in Osnabruck/Hannover area between the
years 1825 to 1870. It's in german language, I have
posted on my page:
http://www.genealogy.com/users/k/r/e/William-H-Krems/
an explaination of how to search it.
As best as I could.

Good morning Bill,

I have a general question if I may.

I have sent the archives 2 emails with the persons I'm interested in, asking
for costs also. They in turn have returned emails with attachments in Word.
My Outlook "detects" potential viruses in these emails, and automatically
deletes them. Would you know the general gest of what they are trying to
email me?

I would appreciate your input.

Hi Marv,

I ordered about 7 copies of records January 30th,
recieved reply Feb 3rd:

"I will endeavor to help you with your genealogical
research. The charges for enquiries, written
information and other comparable services within the
framework of genealogical research depend on the time
spent on the particular request. I must charge you
10,00 EUR for every quarter of an hour. Dealing with
your request is likely to take half an hour. You can
get a copy for 3,00 EUR per order (basic charge) +
0,50 EUR (A4). The exact costs will be decided upon
after the completion of the enquiry. You can pay
the bill by check.

Please, let me know if you want us to carry out this
research."

The following Saturday I sent email asking if they got
my reply and recieved reply Monday that they had and
My cost will be 40,00 EURO=$50.00 but I did request
extra stuff, and that order would be here in about a
week.
Did you send to the correct email address?

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your reply. I did sent to the following address:
poststelle@staatsarchiv-h.niedersachsen.de and they in turn replied twice
w/the attachments I described. In the second email I asked them if they
would proceed and send me the data and bill me. Is that what they did for
you? Sent the data and billed you? If so were you able to send just a US
check or did you have to convert currencies?

Marv

Hi Marv,

poststelle@staatsarchiv-h.niedersachsen.de

Thats the email for Hanover archive mine was
Osanbruck, same thing only with -os intead of -h.

Is that what they did for you. If so were you
able to send just a US check or did you have to

convert currencies?

Havn't recieved my order yet, expect it this week.
I looked on the net for currency conversion and 40,00
converts to $50.00.
They said can pay by check.

As for Outlook not letting you open attachments, can
you forward them to me so I can see what it is and
pass it back to you?

Bill

Marv,
I have a MAC and it won't pick up Windows viruses. Is there any way you
can send the messages to me personally? I could copy them and send them back
to you.
Barbara Stewart

Thanks for the feedback Bill. I would love to send you the attachments, but
Outlook automatically deletes them. I'll go into Outlook and see what the
issue is. Maybe I can resolve the problem.

Thanks again,

Marv

Thanks Barbara, I appreciate your offer. Let's hope they'll email me back,
or hopefully send the information and bill me. If the attachment isn't
automatically deleted by Outlook, I will most definitely forward it.

Again thank you for your offer.

Marv
