Would this search site work for me. My Meyer family from south of Luneburg. My grandfather had a paper about 9" by 10" with the church Seal of some kind of identity. The back side was attached to another paper for support. So if there was anything on that side, I wasn't able to red it.. Do you suppose that is all they needed. What would they need just to go to England or Switzerland.
As for my Heins and Henke family of Mu'den = FAss'berg and Bergen area to U. S.. I don't know about any of them here. I Haven't found them in the united states yet. [same for Luhmann.]
How would that work to find sponsers in USA before coming. Was this something one had to do all on your own and then get that person over there in WSA to sign proper papers and who kept these papers. United states as well as Hannover government.
So, the immigrant had to make sure he stayed and maybe earned more money at the sponsers area before moving on. so, I suppose it would be extremely helpful for me to know who all went before my people left. Would the churches make note of having written those letters?
