My grandmother was Charlotte Sowatzke, born August 11, 1868, in Gross Petzdorf, Kr. Osterode, Ostpr. Her father's name (I think) was Johann Sowatzke. I have had a very hard time finding any information about her and her family. Now that I finally have the name of the place she was born, I am hoping I can find out more about the family and the area she came from. Another part of the problem is the varies ways the surname is spelled (this not unusual, I know, but certainly adds to the problem).
If anyone has any information or ideas where to find information, I would greatly appreciate it.
