1998 there were about 350 different SIEDENTOPF, but only about 40 THAENS in Germany. Besides yu will find about 50 THÄNS with the umlaut "ä". In Lower-Saxony it could be found:

You will find in Bremervörde also one Gaby SIEDENTOPF and in Bremen about 8 different SIEDEN-TOPF, also in Bad Salzuflen a Ingeborg SIEDENTOPF was given. In Salzgitter the name Siedentopf is given one time, but you find here, and only here 9 SIEDENTOP and 3 SIEDENTOPP.
So you might try these three or four places if no other directly hint is given for your research, because of the coincidence of both names still appearing at the same place.
