Thank you for passing this on. I took notes on all the Tobens from the Funnix church records of 1800-1875 if any of your Wisconsin Tobens are interested. The years 1807-1814 and 1843-1852 were missing and the first years extremely dim. Most of those Toben families seemed to descend from a Tobe Lueken Toben and I don't mind sharing what I have. They were married to: Heiken/Hayken, Harms, Weers, Janssen, Tjammen, Onnen, Cordes, etc., to name some.
He came to Peoria, IL, but no other Tobens came there from Germany. (Some Tobins from Ireland though.) There were a couple other Theodor Tobens of the same era that settled in Quincy, IL, and Peru, IN. His full name was Hermann Gottfried Theodor Toben that I found in church records but he had signed one document Hermann T. Toben and the rest of the time was listed in the city directory and tax documents as just Theodor Toben.
I've been searching for several years and appreciate any help I can get.
