Search for Agnes Baune (sp?)

Hello,

I am looking for any information or possible leads for a Mary Agnes Baune (sp?) born about 1850 in Oldenburg. She married Thomas Handley (also spelled Hanley) in August of 1870 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

My father (who does not speak German) has told numerous stories about his grandmother Lizzie Hanley (Mary Agnes & Thomas Hanley's daughter) mentioning a town in Germany called "Ompdomit." I stumbled across a website - Geschichte der Auswanderung aus dem alten Amt Damme 1830-1880 - The history of the emigration from the former Amt Damme (Oldbg) ., particularly to North America, within the years 1830 -- 1880, written by Johannes Ostendorf - and believe this could be the "Ompdomit" that my great-grandmother was refering to and where my great-great-grandmother was originally from.

The 1880 U.S. Census lists the following:

Thomas & Agnes Hanley are also listed on the 1870 U.S. Census but it lists Prussia as her place of birth.

I don't have any other information - I haven't even been able to find her death certificate. Any help anyone can give would be most welcomed!

Thank you!
Sara
