Well, every record that I have ever found, he uses the name Johann or
John, only his church death record lists the middle name. His death
record states as well as his tombstone that he was born 2 Apr 1830.
On the baptism records for the first two children it lists his birthplace
as Schwan Schwerin Rostock, Mecklenburg as well as on the death record
for his first wife Sophie. It lists her birth place as Balge in the
Kingdom of Hannover.----Thanks Bob Marhenke
PS I have had the LDS Parish records for Schwaan and several neighboring
villages looking for Johann and I found several but could not get the
birth date to match up.
