Schlechhausen

In a Church record in Rhineland, an ancestor is said to have come from Schlechhausen in Hannover. I cannot find a village or town by that name. Any suggestions?

What do you think about
Schledehausen = (part of) 49456 Bakum, Kreis Vechta (north of Osnabrck)
Schledehausen = (part of) 49143 Bissendorf, Kreis Osnabrck

What's the guy's name and dates?

That one doesn't fit Hannover.

Schledehausen = (part of) 49143 Bissendorf, Kreis Osnabrück

This one does.

Diane,

There are microfilms of some Evangelical church records for the
Schledehausen (in Hannover near Bissendorf) available in the LDS library.
Are you familiar with the LDS centers?

Diane,
On a google search for Schlechausen (one "h" only) I found a webpage for
someone's pedigree with a woman (Anna Elizabeth Clara Wessler) who was born
in that town. SO, MAYBE, there is a Schlechausen after all. You might look
at the website and email the person who posted that information. It could
be that the town of Schlechausen is so small that it is not listed in the
index of my very extensive Autoatlas of Deutschland. Some of the towns are
so small that they are on the map, but not in the index. This is the
webpage:

Good luck!

That's just another spelling mistake. No reference includes
a Schlechausen, not even the all inclusive turn of the 20th
century Meyers Ortslexikon.

It could be Schledehausen as a part of Bissendorf in Osnabrück county.
The German phone directory listed there 9 Wesseler/Weßler addresses, check www.teleauskunft.de

FYI - I find, looking at an 1831 map of Hannover, that Schlehausen (no "c")
is almost 10 British miles due east of Osnabruck. Also measured as two
German miles.
