Re: Windbeutel, Auflauf, "Kuchen"

Hi to those grumbling stomachs:

There were so many responses, that I lost the thread
somewhere and don't know who asked the question about
the word KÜCHEN. I understand the the word refers to
cake, but you can use a lot of suffix's and have a
discription of many things in the kitchen, from stove
to menu.

Actually in our family we had ZweibelKÜCHEN, which was
a pie. Exciting!! But when you ad the sour cream,
bacon, etc--well I like it.

The item described in the original lising sounded like
a fruit custard pie. Of course, a tradational pie
crust wouldn't do, it had to be a pastry crust. Try
this in one of your pies, you (your stomach) will be
plesantly supprised.

I know--I have posted this URL a couple of times, but
for recipies for StreuselKÜCHEN, OrangeKÜCHEN,
PflaumKÜCHEN, ApfelKÜCHEN, Einfach HoniglebKÜCHEN and
many other recipies you have to look at it.

You will notice that most of them call for lard, oleo,
or butter. You may want to adjust accordingly.
