RE: Re: George Hattorf in the 1880 Census

Hi John

Yes its true parts of the family have been leaving NY. The father Frederick
A. Hattorf arrives somewhere before 1860 in Virginia. And he married again in
1861 in Richmond, Virginia!

So he must be divorced or he is a widower.

But it looks like his sons Frederick and George stayed in New York. They are
both 1862 in the northern army and were disbanded 1862 in Brooklyn.

I have a Frederick Hattorf in the 1870 census.

F. Hattorf, Brattleboro, WIndham, VT born about 1843 in New York. I am sure
this is Frederick J. Hattorf born 1843 in New York, the brother of George
Edward. About 1890 i found Frederick J. in CT.

Of course i am not only searching in New York for George Edward Hattorf.
Knowing very well that the name Hattorf will be to diffucult to find, i was
trying to search for GEORGE and the birthdate 1845-1848 and as birthplace New
York. That brings up a number of 3.111 George in 1880!!! A lot of work, and this
is only the name George not Geo or other misspellings of George. I will go on
looking for him, he must be somewhere in the States.
