Heinrich Adolph Plate aus (from) Burgsteinfurt born 29.05.1818 in Borghorst???
My great grandfather was known as Adolphus Josephus Plate aus Burgsteinfurt.
When the Plates arrived in America, Franz Heinrich Plate changed to Francis H. and Henrich Adolph Plate changed to Henry A. Plate. I have census records of both.
It may be my Wisconsin cousins. The parents, Adolph Plate and Elisabeth Beckmann might be my great grandfather's uncle and aunt.
We need to find more on the parents now to see if there is a sibling who fathered A J Plate.

Eltern: Adolph Plate oo Elis. Beckmann,
ausgewandert 1836 nach Amerika.
Sein Bruder Franz Heinrich ist 1832 nach Amerika ausgewandert!
changed to Francis H. Plate
Look into the churchbooks of Borghorst and Burgsteinfurt.
