Re:Need an address

Dear Listers,
In checking with Salt Lake City here, I'm told that some of the people from
the town of Kamper, Swedish Pommern went to church at the Parish of
Nehringen, Kr. Grimmen. [ I have contacted the church in Glewitz and am
waiting for response there]. They told me that the tiny town of Kamper
belonged to the community of Rodde in 1905 and that the residents there went
to the above church. They have no records in Salt Lake City, so I need to
contact them directly. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the address
may be there or where I might be able to locate it? Thank you for your help.

Hello Irma,
I had ancestors who went to the parich in Nehringen. I too discovered that
the LDS library has no films from this parish. I hired a researcher to do
some
work for me. Here is a snippet of information that he sent in an e-mail:

"Glewitz lies in the former Prussian Province Pommerania. And in this area
the
parish registers are still owned by the churches. Now Nehringen has no own
pastor and the records were brought to the pastor in Glewitz. There I used
only
the original records. There is only one copy, no film and no other duplicate
of
the records."
