Pieter--
Thanks for the reply.
What is the url for "swinx-users" and is it a "chat-group" or genealogy type ?
I had known that an ancestor, Oswald ZENTNER, had married in Holland; but, had no follow on until
I was led to this present group.
I was doing very well--except there were no death dates...???
I then searched for alternate spelling...CENTNER--0 info; then, I checked on SENTNER--Bingo !!
I appears that ALL ancestral ZENTNERs of Holland , later, HAD a spelling change to SENTNER !
I've been researching any & all spelling variations of the surname ZENTNER all over this planet :
They all have 'entner' as the last 6 letters; and then half of the alphabet for the 'front' letter ! VBG!!
Even an ENTNER surname ! [B;C;D;F;G;J;K;L;P;R;S;T;V & "Z"] This does not even consider the appendages
that Eastern European countries attach to surnames to denote some members of their families...OVA; ...ovitch, etc.!
Another variation was to drop the "T" [Petter ZENTNER, ca 1510] and become ZENNER--more of these in Europe than the original
surname ZENTNER.[ Germany has 1150-ZENNER and only 850-ZENTNER, about 200 CENTNER listings in the Telefonbuch.]
Almost any Swiss-spelling of surnames--Kubli; Hoseli, Elmer, Freitag, etc in West Europe usually goes back
to Kt Glarus, Switz.
I 'made' myself..."Keeper of ALL things-ZENTNER" and include spelling variations !
Have a nice Father's day...[if you are one]
