The following lecture seems very interesting to me. Unfortunately, I am "busy that day!" ;o)
But, I would like to read more about these brothers who helped to modernize Japan in the Meiji era.
Thank you for introducing them to me. I wonder if they returned to Germany?
I'm sure their story is fascinating.
There are many Germans as well as other Europeans and North Americans, and Russians buried in old cemeteries set aside solely for non-Japanese in various places in Japan.
I sometimes visit the cemetery in Yokohama.
