RE: AW: [Genealogy.net-users-en] Finding Father

Hi John,

it looks more difficult, then I thought first - when your official papers
state already a father but you believe that is not true - there are two
possible options:

No one except of your mother knows your bodily (real) father ( + a aunt who
heard of it)
and there are no papers to find

Or the original papers know the truth but the father of your siblings has
adopted or accepted you - then you might have a chance.

But I think you have to look for a "Abstammungsurkunde" that is better then
a Geburtsurkunde (Birth-Certificate) as it is complet and shows every
modification (alteration) that a birth-certificat my not show. For example
a adopted child will get a "new" birth-certificate with the adoptive
parents.

At the moment Im leaving for holidays - if you think I could help, then we
have to talk later again, not before 24. April.

Best whishes
Christine

Hello everybody out there is someone able to translate "Abstammungsurkunde"

Christine,

I would translate: Abstammungsurkunde = certificate of descent
