kürzlich hatte ich hier auf die Ortsbeständigkeit des Vorkommens bestimmter Namen hingewiesen.
Ein Vortrag Herrn UDOLPH, des einzigen Professors für Namenkunde (Onomastik) in Deutschland, hat nun den Hinweis auf die folgende kostenlose Seite im Internet gebracht, die vielen viel Mühe ersparen kann:

man braucht nur noch den Namen eingeben, dessen Verbreitungsgebiet man sucht und erhält dann eine Verteilungskarte nach absoluter, aber auch relativer Häufigkeit zur lokalen Bevölke-rungsdichte angezeigt.
Man kann auch nach GEOGEN2.0 googlen, da dies der Name des Programmes ist, das automatisch und sekundenschnell das leistet, was ich hier früher in seiner allgemeinen Funktionsweise als Namensforschung auf Basis von Telefonbüchern teilweise zu beschrieben vrsucht habe.

there is nothing more to do than give in a name, for which the spread is searched and one can get a map of the spread choosable for absolute or relative frequency according to the local density of population.
One may also google for GEOGEN2.0 to get on the site, because this is the name of the pro-gramm, which does automatically in in only a second, what I tried earlier here to describe in parts as the general functioning of name research based on the telefone directories
