If anyone comes across the name Emilie (Emilia?) Elisa Wemje/Wemmje or
Wemmie, could you please let me know. I have seen a lot of postings
pertaining to this surname lately and it gives me hope that someone might be
researching a sibling or parent of my gr. gr. grandmother. She married Henry
(Heinrich?) Sieling and had a daughter named Emilie (Emilia?) Magdalena
Hermine Sieling born in 1872 in Oldenburg. I speak no German, but can roughly
translate what is being discussed. I do want to tell you that I really
appreciate the time that list members take to translate for those of us who
do not speak the language.. a VERY BIG THANK YOU!

I have very little information on Helene Sophie Wemmie. The names of her parents are unknown to me. She was born Aug. 8, 1837, place unknown, death date unknown. On Sept. 6, 1864 she married Johann Gerhard Blessen, son of Johann Diedrich Blessen and Gesche Margarete Boltjes. Children of Helene Wimmie and Johann Blessen were:
1. Anna Blessen, born Dec. 28, 1865; died April 29, 1933. She married Heinrich Ehlers Sept. 16, 1887.
2. Johann Friedrich Blessen, b. May 1, 1867; d. July 27, 1919 in Platte Co., Nebraska; married Wilhemenia Meyer, daughter of Fred Meyer and Engelina Roskans.
3. George Blessen, b. April 9, 1869; d. Feb. 8, 1936 in Westerstede
4. Henry Gerhard Blessen, b. April 11, 1871; baptised June 4, 1871 in Westerstede; d. Sept. 30, 1939 in Crowley, Acadia Parish, Louisiana. He married Lennie Maude Miller July 11, 1900, US.
5. Johanne Sophie Blessen, b. June 27, 1873; d. March 26, 1901. She married Johann Diedrich Blessen on July 27, 1894.
6. Friederike Margarete Blessen, b. Maril 14, 1875; date of death unknown.
