The publishing company has a webpage: www.Stedinger-Verlag.de
On the left side under the heading "Heimatgeschichte Stedingens"
is a list of books about the Neuenhuntorf region including the _Neuenhuntorfer Chronik_.
Click on the book title to see a picture of the book's cover (a very nice windmill) and a description, auf deutsch, of the contents. There is an email address on the website and you can contact the company in English if your German is as shaky as mine.

There is some information about Neuenhuntorf in English - A memoir written before 1914 by Henry MAAS (son of Brand MAAS) tells about the move from Neuenhuntorf to Iowa County, Iowa, U.S.A. and getting started in a new country. In 1854 the families of Herman MAAS, Brand MAAS, Ahrend LANGE, Herman LANGE, John H. MERHRENS, Gerd MUNDERLOH, and Gerd MONNICH, moved to Iowa County. Around 1860 more families came: OTTO, SANDERSFELD, MÖNNICH, PETERSHAGEN, WICHMANN, HEILZHUSEN, RODICK and others. He also mentions: Fredrich PUNDT from Bordewisch, J. LANGE and Becka WICHMANN from Altenhuntorf, and John GRUMMER who later moved to Luzerne, Benton County, Iowa. He said J. H. WENKE and wife and G. MONNICH and wife are buried in Hooper, Dodge County, Nebraska. The memoir is online at: Transfer Page
("maas1" is maas and the number one).

And while we're on the subject of Neuenhuntorf - the Oldenburg State Archive has a 25 page typed manuscript, undated, titled "Geschichte [history] der Familie WARDENBURG in Neuenhuntorf" by Wilhelm Warntjen, director of the Höheren Bürgerschule i.R., in Berne. The document number is 2287. It appears to have been written in the 1940s. The document is a genealogy of the Wardenburg families in Neuenhuntorf, Bäke and Tweelbäke. There is some information (parents, occupations, birth/death dates) of persons who married Wardenburgs. There is also a marriage contract between Carsten WARDENBURG and Metta PUNDT (daughter of Frerich PUNDT) which is very difficult to translate, but involves cows, horses and a "bride wagon". I will do "look ups" if you think your family name may be in this document.

Does anyone know if Herr Warntjen is still alive?
