Until 1937 Fischbach, church parish Fischbach and Kirn-Sulzbach, church parish Sulzbach made part of Oldenburg,
they were part of Birkenfeld, a territory in the Palatinate that belonged to Oldenburg since 1814.
Now the region is part of the federal state Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate). The state archives in charge is at Koblenz.
There is book on the emigrants from that region
with vast name lists:
