I am researching the families of my gggrandparents Johann Arnold Heinrich Borgerding and Anna Maria Hermes. They emigrated from the Ferneding farm in Ihorst near Holdorf in 1834. Heinrich and Maria left with 3 young daughters and came to Dearborn County, Indiana, near Cincinnati, Ohio. Heinrich was the son of Johann Schulte and Anna Maria Elisabeth Borgerding, born on the Borgerding farm in Ihorst. Johann Schulte assumed the Borgerding name when he married. Maria was the daughter of Carl Frederich Christian Hermes and Margaretha Detmar from the Ferneding farm. Carl was born in Volsrude amt Hagenau, Mecklenburg Schwerin. I'm interested in contacting others researching these families and others from Ihorst.

Dear Tom,
What were the names of the three daughters and whom did they marry? A gentleman in Cincinnati has an ancestor who marries a Borgerding girl in Cincinnati and they moved to Mercer County, Ohio.
There is quite a Borgerding clan in Mercer County, OH. I don't have the name and phone number of the gentleman who is now doing the research on the Borgerdings up there.
I have a lot of information on the Barhorst family from Holdorf which should really be Borgerding as a Borgerding married a Barhorst widow and took her name. This group of Barhorsts move to Minster, OH and Fort Loramie, OH.
