Good morning,
I am hoping that some kind person, may be able to help me with finding out some information with regard to my German ancestors.
I am looking for any information on a Frederick Nullmeyer b.c. 1785 and his son Herman b.c. 1805 Bremen.
I have noticed that a high % of Nullmeyers, with the name Herman or Frederick are from the Lippe region of Germany.
Herman born 1805 came to England at some stage and married a Harriet Cochrane of Liverpool. On the 10th December 1837 Liverpool. Herman was a Cigar Maker by trade as stated on his Mar.Certificate.
It is family rumour that the Nullmeyer's left Germany for religious reasons, and that the family owned a Cigar making factory in Germany.
Herman is the only male Nullmeyer from Germany, that settled in England to my knowledge. But I have noted that several Nullmeyer families settled in the USA.
Is there a link with the name Nullmeyer to the Palatine's.
Regards Lynne
