continuing on my journey.......

Got it

I'll just use the same mail to be sure.
In 1772 my GGG Grandfather David Levi Myers migrated from orange burg County, SC to Mississippi.
When my aunt was working on our genealogy many years ago she went to Orangeburg and learned that the courthouse had been burned and all records destroyed, so we
don't know how to trace back to our European roots.

Family lore has it that we are of German descent. Lore has it that we were '"black deutsch and that there was a priest in the family.

A German friend suggested that they might have been referring to the "Platt Deusch"
who were a darker race who fled to the Plateau section (wherever that is) and that
the "priest" was likely a rabbi.

On the top of my bucket list is to find my roots. If you can point me in the right direction for research, or tell me of a professional who might help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I want to have this information for my family, and really want to know for myself.

Thanks.
Katherine Myers King

Got it.
