Looking for SEPPELT family information

Good evening,
My 2nd great-grandfather, Robert SEPPELT, was born in Germany/Poland on 23
April 1846. He came to the United States in about 1869. I am trying to find
his parents and the family lived. As many SEPPELTs lived in Lower Silesia,
I thought I would try this list.

/ Polen geboren. Er kam ungefähr 1869 in die USA. Ich versuche, seine
Eltern und die Familie zu finden, die lebten. Da viele SEPPELTs in
Niederschlesien lebten, dachte ich, ich würde diese Liste ausprobieren.

Hi Troy,

I think the problem is that even if the relevant churchbooks survived and
were online, they are often not indexed in any way. It would be very
helpful if you got a more precise place of origin.
I would suggest ticking off the following documents which might contain his
place of birth or at least a general area one by one:
- passenger list
- immigration record
- declaration of intention (naturalisation petition)
- naturalisation record
- census records
- civil and church marriage records, if applicable
- civil and church death records, if applicable
- cemetery record
- obit
- possible mentions in local newspapers, esp. German-language ones
