Looking for relatives in Königsberg

Hallo Peter,

I have MASUHR (MASUR) in my family.

Hermann Gustav MASUR
*1897 in Loetzeb/Near Koenigsberg
+ 1928 in Rogonnen.
OO Helene Elisabeth WEBER , * 8 July 1893 in Koenigsberg, + 5 Nov 1962 in
Stuttgart.
Children: Ellen still living in England
          Gertraud Annemarie,* 1923, + 1993
          Heinz Guenther, *1932, + 1984

Adam MASUR, + 21 July 1899 in Loetzen
+ 1969 in Stuttgart
Oo to Frieda WEBER
Child: Gerhard Horst MASUR, missing since 1944 Ukraine.

These MASUR were cousins and married sisters Helene and Frieda WEBER.

I still do not have any more info on the parents of both of the MASUR
cousins.

The WEBER sisters are my grandfathers' sisters.

This gives you some ideas where other MASUR's came from and who knows maybe
there could be a connection somewhere.

If I do find more info I certainly will keep you up to date.
Kind regards
Angie

Hallo Angie,

Found a little typo in your posting. Hermann Gustav MASUR was born in
Loetzen (today called Gizycko by the Poles) which is quite a distance (more
than 100 km) from Knigsberg/Pr. - Rogonnen is even further eastwards. It
was a small village in Treuburg County (formerly Oletzko County) in the
Administrative District (Regierungsbezirk) of Gumbinnen. Both Loetzen and
Rogonnen are in Masuren (Masovia), hence the family name MASU(H)R. Close to
Rogonnen there used to be a village by the name of Masuhren, changed to
Masuren in June 1938. By the way, parts of Rogonnen were incorporated into
the town of Treuburg (formerly Magrabowo) in October 1939. For a map showing
Rogonnen see www.ostpreussenkarten.de.vu/karte281.htm

Rolf-Peter
