My name is Doracy L Braun Correa, I was born in Blumenau SC, Brasil , in 16/02/1960 and I'm researching about my ancestors . I already have information about the ancestors born in Brazil but I also would like to know about the ancestors that came from Germany.
I received an e-mail, from Staatsarchiv Wurzburg that confirm about Michael Braun family lived in Volkach and all children of them was born there.
Here follows the information I have already gathered.
Caspar Braun and his wife Barbara Wolff came to Brasil around 1860, arrived in Rio de Janeiro Port. They went to São Pedro de Alcantara , Santa Catarina State, after 1860, with their kids Regine and Georg. Soon, they moved to Blumenau city looking for better place to live. The profession of Caspar was Marschall. They came from Volkach, nearby Wurzburg . They were catholics.
In that time, between 1860 , most of immigrants came from Trier Region, but some also came from other regions, like them, from Lower Franconia..
I know Caspar was born in Volkach, with other siblings, but I would like to have the married register from Michael and Margaretha Schmitt - parents of Caspar - , that I know it's in Diözesanarchiv Würzburg.(I already sent a letter but still didn't receive the answer) I would like to know where Caspar got married to Barbara Wolff. And if possible, know where they moved to . I received an information from Staatsarchiv Würzburg, that after 1840, they couldn't find any register about this family in Volkach, I'm sure , they moved on from that city.
I have the information that Michael was born in Volkach too, but I am not sure about this. And I also don't know if other members of the family immigrated to Brasil, I don't have any register about this until know.
