Greetings
For years I have been searhing for my ancestors from Bavaria. I noticed in
your archives the names I have been looking for. They are as follows:
(J.) Friedrich FRIEDRICH. Born 21 September 1837.
F. John FRIEDRICH
M. Catherine RICHTER
Katherine M.LEUPOLD. Born 26 April 1842. Married to Friedrich FRIEDRICH -
Date unknown.
F. Charles LEUPOLD
M. Catherine -----------
Children born in Bavaria:
Charles Nickol Karl FRIEDRICH. Born 4 October1863
Margareta Kundigunds FRIEDRICH. Born 10 November 1870
Barbara FRIEDRICH. Born 4 December 1871
Wilhelm Nicholas FRIEDRICH. Born 30 May 1879
A Baptism Certificate signed for Wilhelm in 1880 in Lawrence, Massachusetts
has Nicholas LEUPOLD as witness. I find no census record immigration record or
naturalization record for him. I assume he is an uncle who did not stay in
this country.
(J.) Adam POPP, born about 1859 came from Helmbrechts in 1883, His wife"s
name was Rosa S. Adam Popp came to Middletown, Connecticut andf was a
barber. Friedrich FRIEDRICH first went to Lawrence, Massachusetts and was a weaver
in the woolen mills. The history of the mills says that about 60% of the workers
came from the Helmbrechts area. I the 1940"s when I was with the POPP family
they said that we were all "family". As I never got to know the actual
relationship (I was about 8 years old), I am guessing that maybe someone and would
be so kind as to tell me where they may be available.I find no mention of the
town Leupold's or Friedrich's came from. A Crossed out line in the 1910 census
for Adam POPP for Helmsbrechts is my only clue.
Thank you for any suggestions you may offer me.
Thank you,
Charles H. Ehlers
