Also to Jane, JB, Fred and others -

I also learned much from the exchange of emails on this subject which just wet my appetite for more information on the history of the KOH.

Can anyone suggest some reading material on the subject of the KOH history. My Speckmann family (those that I have found so far) is from the Osnabruck/Hunteburg area and north with a very large number of Speckmann from Oldenburg (that I may find that I am related to).

Hello Donna,

I don't know. Sometimes I also have paperclips on messages. Does your email program use java script? I think (not sure) my email shuts off anything script. Most messages I recieve have content removed.

I think sometimes the script says...something like..

Try ...... internet service...or email...excertera...excertera...

In my email program, a paper clip means there's an attachment.

My email is set up so that a paper clip means an attachment--a few years back when there was a paper clip it could have meant you had a virus. Especially if you did not send an attachment.

Hi to the paper clip queries:

The paper clip means there is an attachment. Almost all
lists do not allow attachments or forwarded e-mails as they
may contain an executable code which contains a virus,
worm or spyware. So when you open an e-mail from the
list, you are very unlikely to get something you don't
want. Thank the Administrators for that. If they didn't
do that, you probably wouldn't be able to boot your
computer after a day on the list, unless you have some
good prevention soft ware.
