LAMPE, Johann Friederich (1779-1849)

Dear Oldenburg List Members:

Johann Friederich Lampe married Catharina Maria Gerken and lived at Hof
Gerken in Hoeltinghausen (near Emstek). They had eight children from 1812
to 1836.

They were married before 1812, but I have not been able to find a record of
the marriage in the Kirchenbuch from Emstek parish.

Does anyone know what parish or town Johann Friederich Lampe may have come
from before he married and settled in Hoeltinghausen? I am looking for his
marriage record and his birth record.

Thank you.

I found these Lampe's on Werner Honkomp's website. Looks like a good possibility.

Lampe, Bernard, Dienstknecht - nach Baltimore 1 1849 Borringhausen
Lampe, Friedrich mit Familie bei Kolon Lampe 8 1843 Sierhausen
Lampe, Johann Heinrich bei Kolon Elking 1 1844 Borringhausen

I'd try the second one. I know there were Lampes in Holdorf.

I looked and Sierhausen is under the Damme records.

The Pagenstert book listed some Lampe origin farms:
- Goldenstedt-Lahr, Goldenstedt-Einen
- Visbek-Erlte
- Damme-Sierhausen
- Neuenkirchen

The closest to Emstek is parish Visbek.

Good luck,
Werner Honkomp

Hello Todd (Gerkin),
in my database regarding the Kirchenbuch of Mettingen (near Ibbenbueren,
Westfalen) are lots of LAMPE and some LAMPING listed, but no Johann
Fried(e)rich.
Ludwig (Niermeyer)

I have a LAMPE in my family tree from Erlte according to the Visbek St.
Vitus church books, a few miles over from Emstek. You could check out that
church book for more LAMPEs.

Catherine Angela LAMPE (born 1756 in Erlte) and her parents, Catherine
Elizabeth LAMPE and Johann Herman KNAGGE. She then married a SUYNG and went
to that farm, but you may find your line from a whoever stayed at the LAMPE
farm.

Annette,

My grandfather's greatgrandparents were Bernard Uemann and Ann Marie Suyng (of Astrup). Their daughter was Ann Marie, born Uemann born in 1826. My grandfather's family was in Erlte.

Does my Suyng tie into yours?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris

I bet our SUYNGs do tie in!

My Catherine Angela LAMPE (of Erlte) married Joan Dierk SUYNG (of Astrup!)
in 1786. They had a son Joan Heinrich SUYNG (also of Astrup, born 1790) who
had a son Herman Heinrich SUYNG (born 16 Sept 1826). But I never checked
for siblings - I just kept to my direct line. But I just rechecked the
records for witnesses, but no other SUYNGs witnessed.

Did you check out the Visbek church books already or is it at another
church? I guess you didn't find the marriage record for your UEMANN and
SUYNG which would give the parents?

Annette

Annette,

It certainly seems likely that my Ann Marie Suyng could be the sister of your Joan Heinrich.

I briefly looked at the St. Vitus records, courtesy of the LDS archives, about 10 years ago but didn't make specific notes from it.

My knowledge of the Suyng connection is limited to the Ahnenpass documents that my Grote relatives had filled out about 1938 or so, which went as far back as about 1750.

These shows that Ann Marie (Suyng's) daughter (another Ann Marie) was born in 1826, married a Toenjes/Tonjes, and had my g-grandmother, Maria Carolina. She in turn married Ahlard Clements Grote, and they 9 children together, including my grandfather, who later emigrated to Cincinnati.

Cheers from Chicago!

Chris
My Herman SUYNG's son did marry (in 1900) a TOENJES too. But looking at
that line, yours also must be a sibling line. I have a Johann Henrich
TOENJES born 1813. These relatives of ours repeated names so much it's so
confusing! His parents were Joan Bernd TOENJES and a Margarethe Marie
TABELING and I have 3 more generations back.
