I read your message and hope you can assist in my search for the European origin of
Caroline KUNZE, b. ca. 1827, wife of Martin Gottfried (Frederick) BEHM.
Daughter Carooline b. 1844 in Prussia. Ca. 1850 the family emigrated from
Prussia to America.
Daughter Wilhelmina b. 1853 in New York. Daughter Emily b. 1854 in Michigan where the family resided in the Lutheran village of Waldenburg, North of the city of Detroit, Michigan. They had eight more children between 1856 and 1864, Ferdinand, Carl Frederick Ludwig, William ancestor of my wife, Charles, Mary, Johann Heinrich Albert, John M., and Laura (or Nora).They gave their place of origin as Prussia. Most of the residents of the community came from the area of present-day Kreis Randow, West of the Oder NNE of Berlin vic of the village of Boock, Rothen-Klempenow, Mewegen, & Plowen. The family later became Catholic and my wifes line resided in the city of Detroit.
I have visited Kreis Randow and met many Behm families but no Kunze. No record
found of Martin Gottfried in Kreis Randow.
