I am researching the Kemper and Kamp families. Specifically, I trying to find the Heimat for Anton Josef Kemper, geb. um 1790. He died 17 Apr 1833 in Stottenhausen near Ankum but he wasn't from this area originally. It has been suggested to me that he was from Berge, south of Oldenburg. He was Catholic. Can anyone suggest to me the address for the Catholic Church in Berge? Has anyone come across the Kemper name in researching this Berge area? Thanks for the help.
I don't know if this is the same surname, but there were people with the surname of Kempe in Alfhausen, just outside of Neuenkirchen in southern Oldenburg. I can put you in touch with someone that has the info on that if you think it is the same family.
