I would very much like to find out where my 2 x great grandfather Johan Diderik Lembke comes from (he is born 1776 in Mecklenburg). The Danish census of 1801 states Holsten (?) and later censuses state Schwerin and Strelitz. The first time I find him is in the census of 1801 at the age of 25 - he was in DK digging ditches and lived on Sealand not far from Kalundborg (Holbaek district). Later he married Kirsten Nielsdatter and stayed in DK for the rest of his life.
But where is he born and who is his father and his mother? (and sisters and brothers?).
