My wife Cinda Bartels is a descendent of Jelte Hinnricks Bartels, born 1883
in Eilsum, Ostfriesland, Germany. He came to America in 1906, first to
Illinois, and eventually northeast Iowa. He settled in George, Lyon County,
Iowa.
He married Hattie Thiele of George, Iowa, area and they had 11 children.
His parents were - Hinderk Harms Bartels (born 1843 in Eilsum, Ostfriesland,
Germany) and Elisabeth Harms Muller (born 1844 in Greetsiel, Ostfriesland,
Germany)
The family of Hinderk and Elizabeth Bartels of Eilsum, Germany, included
seven children:
