Don, I was heading out and I thought that I could do a lookup for you at the County Library in the New Orleans Passenger Lists films. But as I made a printout I realize that you gave no names, just the date.

Thank you to all who have responded. Sorry about the names. Friedrich Degener, his wife, Marie Degener, daughter, Marie Degener, father, Christian Degener and several sisters of Friedrich. I found them in the passesnger lists listed by first name initial only and age. The initials and age are correct so I am sure this is my family. They arrived in NYC 10/7/1845 on the ship Emma.
