You asked for info about Hunteburg records. I was able to find an extensive collection of the microfilmed records for the Catholic Church in Hunteburg, including the nearby villages of Welplage, Schwege, Hitzhausen and Schledehausen. I have some dates from the 1760's of my ancestors there, so I know they date back at least that far. I obtained these films through the Mormon Church's Family History Center. They let you come in, search their database for the town in Germany, and then order films for a small fee for a several week loan, to examine right there. If in doing this you come upon the following surnames from my family, let me know, we are likely related, as it is a very low-population area even today. My wife and I visited the place several years ago, and had a nice visit with a local family related to us there, the PLOGSTERTs. DÜVEL, DIECKMANN, KLITTE, NOLTE and SCHILDTMEYER are names in that area in my genealogy.
