Looking for family of Daniel and Catharina (Muller) Honeck. Son's name was Otto, born 10 Jun 1847 in Kuebelberg. Daniel's brother may have been John Adam Honeck born approximately 1816. Daniel was born in 1815. Would like to find out who Daniel's and Adam's parents were and if there were any other brothers and sisters. I also would like to find out the birthdate, birthplace and parents for Catharina Muller. Daniel was Catholic, Catharina was not.
I have a copy of a Reif-Oass (Passport?) from 1851 which lists Daniel, Catharina and Otto. I do not know when Daniel left Germany for the United States. I do not believe that Catharina ever left Germany. I have a record of Otto and Adam arriving in New York on the ship named, George Hurlbut on 1 August 1851. They departed from Le Havre, France. Adam settled in Buffalo, New York. Otto lived with his father in Napoleon, Ohio. After Daniel's death, Otto moved to Toledo, Ohio.
According to a biography about Otto's daughter, Ella, "Otto was only four years old when his grandfather, in the act of trying to calm an insurgent crowd, was struck down by the hand of an assassin. To avoid a similar fate, the murdered man's sons hurriedly hid their gold in an old well, fled from Bavaria to France and arriving at Marseilles, embarked for America.".
One final item, according to Otto's daughter, Frances, the real family name was Von Hoheneichen.
