Thanks for you reply. I do not have any Holst connection myself. I was only trying to get a friend started to look for his ancestors, because he said he was interested in knowing more about them. They have lived for 6 generations in Lübeck, where he himself was born. Since Lübeck was "Freie Hansestadt" until 1937 they issued their own passports and have extensive records, I presume. One learns something new on these lists every day.
