Looking for the parents of Christian, born 8 Feb. 1832, Hannover. What part I do not know. He was in Alton, Madison Co., Il. where he married 11 May 1862 to Rosine Abell, born 15 May 1845, Hannover. They moved across the River to North St. Louis Co., Mo. and attended Salem Lutheran Chruch in Black Jack, North St. Louis Co., Mo. and all their children were baptized there. I still am a member at Salem. Any hekp would be greaatly appreciated.

Hello Vertrees Hood,
it may be with Hannover is meant the town of Hannover, but that does not simplify your research. For the year 1998 there can be found about a bit more than 50 different entries ABEL and about 150 entries for the name WARNECKE in the telephone directory. As you have got the birth-dates you should give a trial to the Hannover Kirchenbuchamt to send you copies of the birth-documents, if refindable there inside the town of Hannover.
I can give you three ABEL out of the Garnisonkirchenbuch Hannover, what means they have been military persons in any way:
- oooo2 ABEL, Lüder, Gefreiter, Kp. Generalfeldmarschall, tot 1697; oo ... Anna Catharina NN,
bg. 9.7.1697
- oooo3 ABEL, Hans Heinrich, 1704 Kp. Güldenklee, 1706 Kp. Wurmb; oo ...NN
1. Maria Elisabeth Anna, gt. 25.3.1704
2. Ernst Sylvester, gt. 8.8.1706
Paten: 1704 Hans Hinrich Mönckemeiers Frau, Hans Hinrich Rötger, Maria Margarete
Wegner, 1706 Ernst Eikemeyer, Sylvester Behrens
- oooo4, ABEL Johann Georg Heinrich, Rekrut der Britisch-Hannoverschen Legion, * Hülsede;
oo 25.11.1805 Sophie Dorothee Eleonore LÜHMANN, * Völksen
I presume the double L in ABELL should have been made after emmigration. The whole country telephone directory gives only two entries ABELL, which seem to be only one family:
- ABELL, Ben, Stettinerstr. 2, 63843 Niedernberg, Tel. 06028 996827
- ABELL, John, Stettinerstr. 2, 63843 Niedernberg, Tel. 06028 4611
Good luck,
Hans Peter Albers, Bienenbüttel
