I have discovered that my GG Grandfather came from Hannover, Germany to the
USA around 1857. The spelling of our last name was changed upon arrival to
the USA to LAYMAN from (we believe) LEHMANN, but not 100% sure. Any
suggestions as to the best path to take now to locate his birth place. I do
know he was born on Feb. 16, 1830.
All suggestions will be appreciated.
