I`m sorry to tell you - but Bavaria is no good "Born-area"
Today after WW2 and displacement from the eastern areas - there are a few
"Born" in today Bavaria and some in Munich - but it would be really helpfull
if you could find the lost informations/documents.
And Peter Born is today the most commonly used name among the Borns.
The first thing to find out will be the border of Bavaria in 1828

the Link shows a map from 1834 and you can find a part Kgr.Bayern (Kingdom
Bavaria) beside Elsa?-Lothringen (today Pfalz - area around
Kaiserslautern) - it is possible, that he could have been born there
somewhere.
Do you have the shipping-documents ? From which harbour did he come ? Bremen
and Hamburg have own papers for emigrants.
If you are a member of ancestry - you can look into the "Hamburger
Passagierlisten 1850-1934" but I think 1852 is not so easy.
Do we talk about Peter Born in Berks Pennsylvania Colebrookdale Township in
1860 Census ?
